"It Does Matter"

I'm working on some wrestling centered pieces for an upcoming group art show at a local cafe. I cannot claim to be a real wrestling fan at all. However, I definitely have an appreciation for the over the top, iconic characters portrayed on the wresting scene when I was a kid in the eighties and nineties. One such over the top, "real life superhero" type individual I remember from childhood is The Ultimate Warrior. I always thought he was an awesome looking character, a real life action figure of sorts. Nostalgia led me to focusing on him for one of my pieces. I researched Warrior's career and his life in general before completing this study. What I found was an electrifying entertainer and one who inspired people well beyond his time with the WWF/WWE. I find his motivational YouTube videos, speeches and writings to be pretty intense and effective. He seems to have been a pretty awesome, high energy individual who was genuinely concerned with inspiring others. It was very said to learn of his untimely passing. It's a loss for the fans and people who looked to Warrior as an inspiring symbol. The greatest loss of course is to his wife and children. RIP Warrior.

I love Warrior's simple mantras, "Always Believe" and "It Does Matter".
