Battle Skull Progress

I've been plugging along on Battle Skull. Finished up some inks last night on a piece I'm now particularly fond of. You can see a little sample of it (complete with magical Instagram filter) above.

Just to refresh both regular readers of this blog and newcomers, Battle Skull is my present mega labor of love creative undertaking. I've been working on it for nearly a year and it's not quite half done. Between working full time and getting distracted by other creative muses, production speed has not exactly been thunderous. However, there's no deadline for this book. I want every illustration to be of the utmost quality. So, I'm taking my time and enjoying the journey. It gets frustrating sometimes. I wish the book was done, printed and in my hands. I want to share it in its completed form so badly! It's ok though, it will be worth the wait and the glory I'll have achieved within myself having seen it through to the end will be priceless.

Ok, going a bit off the rails here. Tends to happen when I talk Battle Skull.

So yes, Battle Skull will be a book. It will consist of single page, full color illustrations with little text aside from SFX. The book will depict our hero Battle Skull's first great adventure. The book will be filled with action, excitement, even a little romance. Best of all, it will have an incredible cast of gnarly monsters and creatures for Battle Skull to face off against.
