Shape Language...
I recently took a portfolio development class with the awesome Sean "Cheeks" Galloway through Schoolism.com. Prior to taking the class I tried to develop a style I could use for the assignments. I figured I should gear my stuff toward animation as this is where Sean's style seems to fit best and it's a realm I really enjoy working within.
So, I wanted to come up with a specific way of representing characters. I tried to develop a basic "shape language" that I could use to build characters with a sense of solid construction and a definitive, cohesive style. The drawings featured here represent some of my explorations. I basically used spheres and cylinders to construct everything. I really enjoyed doing this and I am still refining the technique.

That´s very good. I´ve liked too much this "flowing" trace. This "basic shape language" as you said may add a lot to the drawing composition. I´ve enjoyed a lot your drawings, the way of them. Lion, TNMT, He-man, Batman, CapAme, many inspirations of mine. So having time see my drawings on my flickr, if you have one add me there as i can follow your steps there. Nice! I liked a lot. See ya and Good Luck! that´s my site, i ve made it recently, flickr.com/tzanotti10. Enjoy!
