Fresh scribbles... More random doodles for your enjoyment. I've been creating images recently that actually tell a bit more of a defined story, none of which are featured in this post. Once I get through the many random doodles I have scanned, I'll post some more story focused stuff. I've been thinking about the importance of thinking...wait, did I really just write that?...anyway the importance of thinking about what you are going to draw before you draw it. It's something I haven't really done a lot of while sketching for fun. Of course, I think hard when I am doing a preliminary sketch for a comic strip, page, or illustration but not so much during pure leisure sketching periods. I'd always seen sketching as a free for all, just draw whatever pops into my head, let the pencil lead the way. I've found that thinking of a context or idea before jotting something down can yield pleasing results, especially when my inspiration is a bit low. I'm trying to do more of this. Reading this makes me realize how stupid I sound for not having been doing this all along, haha. Don't get me wrong, it's not like every sketch on this blog had no thought or inspiration behind it. It's just that now I am trying to focus a bit harder on telling stories once in a while with my doodles, adding a bit of a new dimension to them. Anyway, the sketches in today's post are just random fun. There will always be plenty of stuff like this because it's super fun to do.
