Les Armes Du Meta-baron, finally out!!!
Travis Charest's Les Armes Du Meta-baron is finally in print! I've been waiting about 8 years for this book to come out. The book is written by Jodorowsky and partially illustrated by Zoran Janjetov. Travis' artwork is the main event as far as I am concerned.
I've been a Travis Charest fanatic since the 1990's when he was kicking butt on the Wildcats books. When he left those books and his next project was announced I was so pumped. The new project was to be called "Dreamshifters" and the small amount of preview artwork that had been revealed looked like nothing I had ever seen in comic books before. The quality of the work blew my mind, I couldn't imagine a book fully illustrated in such a detailed style. This detailed style was apparently very labor intensive and resulted in it taking Travis way longer than he had anticipated to complete pages. Years passed and there was no release date in sight. Finally, it was announced that another artist, Zoran Janjetov, would be brought on to complete the book. Thankfully the pages Travis did complete made it into the publication.
Below are a few of the preview pages that have popped up on the internet over the years. The images are not very large but you can see some of the incredible atmospheric effects and detail Travis put into the work. This stuff is just on a level all its own.
The book has only been released in France to my knowledge, I guess it is available all over Europe as well but I am not sure. I ordered a copy from Amazon.fr, the French Amazon site, and I am hoping it arrives soon. Here's the link for anyone interested in picking up a copy: http://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/2731614471/ref=s9sims_c5_14_at1-rfc_p-frt_p?pf_rd_m=A1X6FK5RDHNB96&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=0JMK2GB4J2MSPA3AEKV4&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=218420791&pf_rd_i=405320

That looks like an interesting comic, I should check it out.
Yeah man, I finally got my copy, the art is amazing. The book is in French though so unless you know the language, actually reading it my be trouble. The art alon is worth it in my opinion though.
Hey Tom, this book is available only on Amazon's French site. How easy is it to get it shipped to a US address, and how much did it cost you? I checked amazon.fr and I cant understand a thing! :(
