Some stuff I had laying around... Been a while since I posted some fresh doodles, figured I'd put a stop to that. I actually had these drawings piled on my scanner for weeks waiting to be scanned. I finally got around to scanning so here they are for you to enjoy!

The above baseball player is actually a prelim for a cool project I worked on with my partner in crime, Jon Wood. We worked together to design a logo for his company's softball team. We did finish the design and shirts were printed, I have one, hopefully I'll get around to sharing it on here or on the Bontebok Design web page (www.bontebokdesign.com) soon.

In some weird way, this bear's (above) face reminds me of the incredible Disney animator, Glen Keane. http://www.animationartist.com/movies/tarzan/Artists/GlenKeane_copy.jpg http://theartofglenkeane.blogspot.com/

I was definitely thinking of Keron Grant's work when I blurted this scribble out. Of course, I have nowhere near the understanding of anatomy nor the virtuosity that Mr. Grant possesses. However, this doesn't stop me from having fun feeding off the inspirado his work provides. Check him out...http://www.kerongrant.net/ and http://kerong.deviantart.com/ He's one of my old favorites and in my personal opinion one of the most talented and inovative artists working today.
Speaking of Keron, his latest sketchbook is just one of the many I have purchased these last few weeks from many of my favorite artists. San Diego Comic Con just passed and so many incredible art books have been released by some stunning artists, I can hardly keep up. These books provide a ton of entertainment and inspiration. I may have to geek out and do a post all about the books I have gathered recently...yeah I think I am going to have to do that, look for that post soon!
Thanks for dropping by, hope you dig the doodles and the ramblings.

Hey, Tom.

I really like the doodles you did. I wanted to know: what's the brownish-yellowish pencil you're using? Col-Erase? And where can I buy it? It looks really nice, and I like the lines it gives.

Let me know at my blog:
