Some scribbles fer yuh...
Featured in this post are a few random doodles I had scanned in a while ago. Took me a while to get to them but here they are for your consideration. Now I want to ramble a bit about a few things...
In comic art geek news, Joe Madureira's second issue of Ultimates hit last week! Had to mention that, it's going to be a major topic on my mind from now until well after the last issue hits. Anyway, issue 2 blew me away. The printing was nice this time around so Joe's drawings and Chris Lichtner's wonderful colors could be seen pretty close to the way the artists intended I believe. The stuff is just off the charts.Joe's work has so much flow, energy, and character, perfect for this action heavy Summer blockbuster style story. When coupled with Lichtner's colors it really looks like nothing else on the shelves. I know people have been knocking the writing and I agree it's nothing stellar but it has not really taken away from my enjoyment of this book. I am actually curious to see how the plot pans out, though I could do without Loeb's cheesy one-liners. Can't wait for #3!
Other cool books released last week that I would highly recommend...Mice Templar, Astonishing X-men, and X-men containing the conclusion of Messiah Complex. Great art and well written, entertaining stories in all of these books. End geek rant.
Enjoy the doodles...

Lesean Thomas, I know he's a popular guy, doing that Boondocks work and all, but I only just discovered his stuff. Lesean has a heavy Anime/Manga influence in his work, which some might not dig or be really into it depending on your taste. I just see the awesome drawing talent, the construction, the simplicity, the energy, it's all good! Check his stuff out http://lesean.deviantart.com/ very inspiring.
Travis Sengaus, I get the feeling this guy could be really big one day. I discovered his work through an online Spawn comic. He's got a big Damion Scott influence in his stuff and is doing his own thing really well. I look forward to seeing him grow. Check him out http://travissengaus.com/
Sean Gordon Murphy found him on Deviant Art. Really strong work with good shapes, inking, innovation, energy. I am going to have to track down some of his comics. http://seangordonmurphy.deviantart.com/
Check these guys out, enjoy. Thanks for dropping by!
