Bontebok Comics #2 Previews + I've been promising my millions of faithful readers a preview of Bontebok Comics #2 for a while now. I think I showed a few things in an older post, but that was a long while ago. So, this post packs some goodies from the new book my bud Jon Wood and I have been crankin' on since summer.

Bontebok Comics #2 is the sequel to our magnificent debut issue that we self-published and sold at New York Comic Con 2007. We're trying to capture the magic again and bring things to a new level for the second issue and once again show it off at New York Comic Con '08. The book is really a playground for us to do whatever kind of stuff we're inspired to do within the given page limit. This issue will feature more experimental styles, such as the revolutionary construction paper cut out style I am using for a short vampire story and we'll be exploring mixing other media as well. Basically, you'll see a lot of the same characters from the first book, their stories continue here, but you will see totally new stuff too that will rock your socks.

Below are some pencils, early stage work before clean-up and color. Let the hype begin!

Below are some sketches I did for a friend of my bro's who wanted a subway car sketch for his album cover. I forget which one he chose, may not have been one of these, I did a bunch of drawings for it. I saw this on my comp and felt like sharing. Hope you like!

Thanks for visiting. For more info on Bontebok Comics and just what the heck we are up to visit Bontebokdesign.com. Also, this blog is a good source for such information. Once again, Bontebok Comics #2 will be available at New York Comic Con 2008, also through me directly, just e-mail, plus we will have a few more awesome goodies available by the time the Con rolls around. Oh, and Happy Belated Thanksgiving to all, sadly couldn't make a post on the holiday this year.

Hey, awesome new comic stuff! Minot the Robot looks like he'll make a great edition to the Bontebok team. I like the train sketches too, looks good to me.

As for our art trade thing, I was just thinking we could each do a character of the others, but not say who it is until we present them, maybe just on our own blogs on a certain day, or something.

Lemme know what you think, if ur busy then don't worry about it for now. Thanks.
