COMIC CON THIS WEEKEND!!!! come to booth #964!!!
The above page is a little preview piece from the comic my buddy Jon and I have been working on for a while and are sharing at New York Comic Con 2007 this weekend (booth #964). This page is one of two single pages introducing characters we did not have longer stories for to put in this first issue, this page being the Minot the Robot page. Pages like this start out with my drawings then Wood cleans them up a bit and slaps some digital color on there.
Below is the cover to the comic, which I shared last post, figured I'd put it again to bang it into your mind! I am very proud of this book, I think it is super cool, fun comic. I can't wait to start on the next one.
If you want to check the book out, contact me and we'll see about getting you a copy. Price is still being figured out. It will probably be $4 shipping included. Paypal, money order, whichever. Let me know if you want one.

Above are a few bonus random doodles for this post. These are things I have had on my computer for a while and just never posted, so here you go!

Artists
Jamie Hewlett http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jamie_Hewlett, Tank Girl creator and the artist behind virtual band Gorillaz. I recently purchased the second Gorillaz DVD collection of videos and such "Slow Boat to Hades" very cool. I am not a big fan of their music but I love the visuals. http://www.amazon.com/Gorillaz-Phase-Two-Slowboat-Hades/dp/B000HT39CA/sr=1-1/qid=1171943381/ref=pd_bbs_1/105-6599629-9626839?ie=UTF8&s=dvd I also picked up a few Tank Girl trades recently to see Jamie's early work, it's cool stuff but he has certainly come a long way and refined his work. I wish he would do some comics, maybe a Gorillaz strip or something else all together just so we could see him tell a story again.
Alex Toth I can't seem to escape Toth since discovering his work earlier last year. Check out www.tothfans.com and dig the page of the day every day, well sometimes it's not up but most of the time there is a nice Toth piece for your viewing pleasure. I am trying to get some re-prints of Toth's classic work, not so easy to track down for a good price.
Stuart Immonen I am a big fan of Stuart's work, especially the new approach he has adopted for his recent marvel work including the wonderful Nextwave with Warren Ellis. Check out his blog and very cool web comics http://www.immonen.ca/
John K the famous animator. I have been loving his blog. He has some very interesting things to say about the art of animation and art in general, hell everything in general, he's passionate and I admire that, very fun to read his thoughts on various things. He also makes hilarious drawings and cartoons. http://johnkstuff.blogspot.com/
Music
Music
Mark Knopfler I've been listening to his album Shangri-la for a few weeks now. I have had the ablbum for some time and liked a few songs but only recently really enjoyed it all the way through. I love the feeling I get from these songs, hard to describe, but I like it. http://www.mark-knopfler.co.uk/
Bob Dylan I just watched No Direction Home a documentary on Dylan. I enjoyed it, what an interesting artist and truly a legend. I am not a huge Dylan fan or anything, just really starting to check him out, my bro had the movie so I watched it and it gave me a good introduction to his work and place in history.
I actually write music too, I play guitar and attempt to sing. I was thinking of starting a blog to post some songs, not sure how I would go about getting music up on there though.
Ah to end, the amazing Carlos Nine now has a functioning website with a gallery of his work. Check it out, be prepared to be inspired. http://www.carlosnine.com/
