HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Well, I'm a day late but 2007 is still ever-so fresh that I think I can still pull off wishing everyone a Happy New Year. Above is my sloppy little scribble of "Baby New Year". He looks happy now, hopefully he stays that way and doesn't get cranky.

I hope everyone had a great holiday season, I know I did. Seeing as I work at a middle-school, I had a wonderful full week off and really enjoyed spending it with friends and family, as well as using it to read through some of the incredible books I got for Christmas. Two stand-outs from my gifts were Claire Wendling's "Desk" sketchbook (http://www.claire-wendling.net/) and Carlos Nine's "Fantagas" . At the very least you should check these artists out online if you aren't familiar with their work, and if you've got the cash you should buy the books I've mentioned and whatever else you can get your hands on. Very inspiring stuff! Stuart Ng Books is probably the best source in the US for their work. www.stuartngbooks.com

Also, I want to mention that I saw an amazing film this past week called "Pan's Labyrinth". Director Guillermo Del Toro has done a great job with this piece. It is a wonderful film with a great mix of fantasy, stark reality, and drama. The designs for the fantasy creatures in the film are just awesome too. It's very unique and so worth seeing. More sketches coming soon! Thanks so much for dropping by, let's hope 2007 is a peaceful, healthy, productive year for everyone!
