A massive talent passes away (not Arnold), portly elves, children attack, and a blue cowboy...
I sadly have to mention here that composer Basil Poledouris passed away this week. I actually found out about this on Mike Wieringo's blog, where he did an excellent Conan sketch to accompany the sad news. Conan the Barbarian is my favorite film of all time and the soundtrack is a huge part of what makes the film so great. Basil Poledouris composed this wonderful music that has been in my life and inspired me for many years. Thankfully his music remains to remind people of the super talent he was. For more on Basil, he worked on much more than just Conan, visit http://www.basil-poledouris.com/
On a brighter note, some sketches...

The above sketch is kind of autobiographical. I am a substitute TA/EA right now, I've worked in some elementary schools and it can feel like this at times, it's fun though.
That's it for now. I hope to get another post up about an interesting artist soon. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the doodles!

I really liked the cowboy one. What did you use for the white there? Awesome stuff too, I liked the elves, ha ha.
Glad I could get a chuckle out of you, Billy Sausage Fat.
Checkmark, thanks for the feedback. I used a white charcoal pencil. It's my poor, poor attempt at something I have seen artists like Drew Struzan and Travis Charest do, gives a cool highlight effect on toned paper.
nice sketches!
Thanks, Alina!
