Have to knock the Halloween post out of the top spot with some fresh sketches.
There is something of a narrative going on in the above collection of random doodles, at least with the three darker drawings. The light pencil drawing, the rat figure to be specific, is influenced by Don Bluth, been very into his work of late.
Animation artists continue to blow my mind and influence my work. I discovering new masters of the past and present everyday and getting some great inspiration from their work. I need to focus on life drawing though! I really need to get my chops up and my basic understanding of drawing before I can ever hope to even mimic these guys.
Some inspirado for you:

Older School...
Don Bluth...http://www.donbluth.com/
Cartoon Modern...http://cartoonmodern.blogsome.com/
I recently discovered Milt Kahl and Tom Oreb too, my god these guys were incredible artists. I need to look more into the old Disney animators, particularly the legendary "9 Old Men". Check these guys out if you can on the net, though there is not much material, probably be easier to track down the films they worked on.
Ok, long post, not that you've read this far, but I hope you like the new sketches and perhaps find an artist on here that you haven't checked out yet. Thanks for visiting!

Tom ... when you get rich and famous I want to be the first to live vicariously through your success! Great job man ... I'm blown away. Hope everything'g going well. Skott Kollins says hi.
Hey, Rob! Wow, thanks for the kind words. You should get a site or something going for your art and writing, share some of your concepts and story ideas. Who knows, maybe Joey Q would stop by and scoop you up.
Speaking of your work, are you still thinking about joining Wood and I at Comic Con 2007 NYC? That would be a lot of fun. We need to hang out soon too, been way too long, hopefully we get a chance sooner than later.
Oh and Skottie Young told me to say what's up to you. (bwahaha, Skott Kollins...)
Hey nice stuff as usual. The way you made some of the sketches lined up real well with the other ones though. That little guy looks like he's gonna fall on the match!
That'd be cool if you got famous, maybe so though.
Hey, Checkmark. Thanks as always for stopping by and giving some feedback. Glad you're liking this batch of sketches.
The sketch page with the match and the little guy was put together intentionally so it would look like the lil' dude is being lightly toasted while the face in the lower left hand corner watches in horror. Sick and twisted, I know.
