Some cartoony stuff... Original caption for above drawing: "You're a great guy, a real catch. There's no reason to believe she doesn't like you!"

The influence of animation design artists, past and present, continues to show itself in my recent drawings. I've been having a lot of fun messing with shapes and trying to capture as much energy and life as I can.

The book piece and the doodles on a piece of Barnes and Noble stationary are kind of autobiographical. I am currently working at Barnes and Noble as I look for a better job and apply to grad schools. The people I work with are great, but the pay and hours suck, def need to move on soon as I get a chance.

On another note, I have to mention illustrator/animation designer Carter Goodrich. I've been really into his work recently. His use of shapes is great and he has a fantastic sense of color and design. I picked up a new childrens Christmas book he co-wrote and illustrated titled "A Creature Was Stirring" and it is outstanding. I ordered his illustrated version of "A Christmas Carol" real cheap on Half.com, looking foward to seeing that. Google his name if you want to check out a few samples of his work, it will be worth the search.

That's all for now, enjoy the sketches. Thanks for visiting!

Hey, cool new stuff. I like the drawings on the B and N slip. I read on a different blog the other day, it's the sign of a true artist to use whatever is around.

Hey man, glad you like the drawings. As for ther BN scribbles, If I feel the need to draw, I will work with whatever is at hand, as long as it's appropriate and doesn't mess with other people's belongings and such. Haha, not sure if that makes me a "true artist" more like an obsessive doodler. Thanks again for always dropping by and bothering to comment.
