A hefty update since I've been a bit lazy about posting. These sketches are examples of me trying different things with pens, wax and colored pencil, and different drawing styles. No life drawing here, as I am sure you can tell.

The Hellboy image is a prelim drawing for a pin-up that will appear in either the forthcoming Bontebok Design Sketchbook or the Bontebok Sampler. This prelim will definitely be in the sketchbook along with many other rough ideas for the image. My friend Jon and I are deciding where to put the finished piece, which will have a full-color version. We are self-publishing these books and I will have them for sale here for those who may be interested. They're gonna be real cheap and real fun!

The other images here are mostly very influenced by animation and character design. Blogs have opened my eyes to the wide world of super-talented character designers and animation artists whom you seldom hear about otherwise. Today's sketches were influenced by Tim Burton, Ovi Nedelcu, Pixar's The Incredibles, Peter de Seve, Glen Keane and more. I've found a new powerful inspiration in the art of animation and character design. Links to all of these artists are in my links section, poke around if you haven't seen work by these people, I am sure you'll find something you like.

That's all for now, enjoy the sketches, feedback is appreciated!

Really awesome stuff like always. I think I'd be in line to buy one of your books when it comes out. Your sketches here are looking really nice, the one creepy faced guy is great, good style.

Thanks a lot, man. The fact that you would consider buying a book with my art in it means a lot to me. Hopefully something will be available soon. Thanks again, and your comic is really coming along nicely!
