"Peter Gabriel Genesis era 1968-1975" by Bill Sienkiewicz
"Batman" by Bill Sienkiewicz
"Hulk" by Ed Mcguinness
"Dusty Star" by Andrew Robinson
"Batman" by Tommy Lee EdwardsMy scanner is back in business so I am celebrating by getting my belated Heroes con post up! The above images are all sketches obtained at Heroes Con 2006. All of these artists are amazing talents, links to their sites can be found in my links section.
The highlights of these sketches for me are the Bill Sienkiewicz pieces. My brother commissioned Bill to do the Peter Gabriel for him. My brother is not a comic book fan or art fan at all, he just came along with me to the show and made it his mission to get sketches of his favortie album covers and musicians. He is a progressive rock fiend and he loves early Genesis when Gabriel was their front man. If you have heard the music, particularly "The Musical Box" or seen live footage of this, this Sienkiewicz sketch should give you chills. A truly amazing work, Bill said he loved doing it, he got really into it and added color which he did not originally plan to do. Me being the fanboy that I am, got a simple Batman, Bill does one of my favortie renditions of the character so this is a prized piece for me.
All of the other artists featured here, Tommy Lee Edwards, Andrew Robinson, and Ed Mcguinness were all super cool guys and gracious enough to do a quick sketch for a fan. Good stuff.
I'll have some of my own new stuff up real soon. Rejoice!
